This is what I always advise: If you're a guy who'll take the machine to work, open it & use it, close it & take it home, the 17" size will be perfect. BUT, if you REALLY use your notebook like a mobile computer, you'll probably find the 17" a bit bulky and cumbersome in most situations. I'd pick the new 15" AlBook as it's faster and has a MUCH better video card.

It really depends on what your priorities are. Both are good machines. I'm selling my rev a 17" and using a new 15". Benefits to the 17"

Bigger screen
Much better speakers
Works great on a desk
Runs cooler
Killer DVD player

Benefits to 15"

Works much better as "laptop" (smaller, more balanced, stiffer hinge which won't move around)
brighter screen (smaller but much brighter than 17")
slightly faster than rev a 17"

Drawbacks to 17"
Screen hinge moves around when jostled on lap
Weight concentrated on hinge area on lap, which put weight at edge of knees (uncomfortable after awhile)
Too large to take out to check something quick

Drawbacks to 15"
Runs hotter to the touch than rev a 17" or Tibook 1GHz
Battery life worse than Tibook, about same or slightly less than 17"
