Hey all-

I have a new 12" on order, sched to ship 9/25. As I remember when my wife got her TiBook, we had to find the correct torx screwdriver to install the memory -

Does anyone know what kind of screwdriver I will need to open the 12" and install my RAM chip? I would hate to be holding the AlBook and the RAM and not be able to install it -

Thanks,

Lee

I used a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

On the new Al 15" PB the screws for the RAM cover are VERY SMALL. I believe that the 12" is similar.

You'll need the smallest Phillips-head screwdriver you can find, like the one you get in a set for eyeglass or camera repair (Jeweler's screwdrivers).

The one in your "junk" drawer or in the toolbox out in the garage will definitely NOT work here.

Do not rely on the size (#0, #00, etc.) to find the right size. Go to Sears or Radio Shack and buy a small set of 5 or 6 jeweler's screwdrivers. Then just use the one that fits perfectly. You should expect to pay no more than $10. It'll be worth it.
