I know all about the logic board issues, I got mine replaced just over three months ago and now I've seen the fuzzy lines a few times one night while I was working in bed.

Is it possible that this was a one time thing? I haven't seen it since and am praying that it was just because it got too hot or something...

Has anybody seen the dreaded flicker, only to not see it again?

No, mine had the same flickering a week before it died.
Make sure you back-up your data.

My iBook (see sig) died yesterday, after the mysterious flickering thing. One day after my full HD backup. Hell, that was narrow!
I've still got warranty and talked to the Apple tech. I'm supposed to get it the week after next.

Even if it dies (from logic board failure, flickering)
you can still back-up your data.

- Use the Ibook in traget mode to move files
- Ibook in target mode + CCC

Typically, if it flickers, it's going to die. Backup right away...
