Sold my iBook 800 (30 gig hd, airport 640 ram combo) and ordered a new 12 inch with combo, 80 gig hd, 256 ram, and Airport (I'll add a stick of 512 crucial) ...

I was tempted by the 1.25 15 inch but couldn't justify the 500 price increase, and I do like the 12 inch form factor.

And just to be sure I did some ken burns tests with my 1.0 ghz iMac and my dad's new 1.25 iMac and the difference was negligible...

On or Before 10/3 here I come!

Thanks! I love getting new apple products...it's like a drug. I couldn't pass up the 10 gig iPod for 69.00 (edu store w/ discount)...I have a 15 gig but I may sell this one to recoupe some costs.

I know I'll be wanting that backlit keyboard but alas

I do love the form factor of the 12 inch in class. If I need more screen space for a project, I do have my 17 inch iMac (with monitor spanning hack). As long as I can play quake and UT 2003 on this I'm good as I do have a PC for the big graphic intensive games...The radeon is nice but I'm not on the Mac platform for heavy gaming...

Well, after I found out about Jobs seeing new Powerbook G5 at the end of next year, I decided to get one of those little ones too. I already have a GHz Ti, but I need a second portable in my family , so a nice little 12-incher will fit. I'm not crazy about this new Alu design (as mentioned in another topic), but waiting two more years for something different is out of the question. I ordered a Combo version from MacConnection with free 512MB RAM and a bag last week. We'll see...

Very Nice deal. I had read somewhere that the G4's used in the new powerbooks were up to 40 percent faster or so then previous G4s although I don't know how true that is. Anyone know anything about that?
