I just got the new powerbook 15 inch superdrive and the screen is all messed up it had 3 pixels dead at first and then all of a sudden the screen started having yellow lines down it. every once and a while they go away for a little bit or get less... i dunno what i am supposed to do. i guess i will just have to go back and exchange it, but its like why couldnt it just be fine the first time around.

I think the lack of punctuation ruined your screen.
Sorry to hear about it, though!

My new 15" (my first mac!) has SPOTS all over the display. Not stuck pixels, just bright white spots. Check out this thread.
I had always thought Apple displays were a quality item, what could be going wrong? I bought mine online so I have to send it back to them...

Posting from my brand new 15" AlBook. No less than _seven_ stuck pixels, and two groups of light spots near the bottom, roughly corresponding to where the S and L keys are when the lid is closed.
The stuck pixels are mostly stuck blue, one red, one white.
The light spots are about three pixels in diameter, each group has about 6 of them scattered around in a one inch area. They are slightly lighter than anything else on the screen.
I will be calling Apple about this, trying to get a replacement.

Have them let you keep it until the replacement comes in, and then open the new one in the store--to check it, and to transfer your data before erasing the one you're giving back.
Minimize your inconvenience. Seems like a fair demand.
(Or you could ask if they'd move the HD to the new machine, if they can and you don't mind your Mac being gutted!)

The problem with going to the Apple store is that my AlBook is BTO'd. What about it is custom, you ask? One 512 meg DIMM. Why is that? Because while the stock config for the 17" is one 512 meg DIMM, good for easy expansion, in the 15" model they chose to make the stock config two 256 meg DIMMs, meaning you can just throw them both away when you want to add RAM. Not very convenient at all.
Since I have a BTO model, I fully expect them to tell me to Airborne Express it to Texas, taking at least four days.
Actually, I don't mind the wait, since I still have my old TiBook to work on in the meanwhile. But I do mind the defective display right out of the box.
