Well, after much Airborne untracking and many phone calls my new baby has arrived. It was supposed to arrive Monday, but didnt. Airborne couldnt track the package at all. I called Tuesday and they claim it is out being delivered. Ran home just in time to catch the guy pulling up to the house. Its a stock 1.25 Gig unit, that i have had a little chance to peruse. This is a great looking machine. There are no visible flaws on the exterior. No warpage of the screen although there is about a 1 mm clearance between the top panel and the base above the optical drive. Cant really notice unless you are pusing on it or looking at it very close. The screen is brighter than my Ti was. There is a pixel that seems to be stuck on white or unable to turn grey. You can notice it on the startup screen and on pages having a grey tone; other wise its unnoticeable. There is a gap between the screen and the "base" when the lid is closed. Not sure if I like it too much. I think i will get the RadTech rubber feet to shore up the TINY jobbers supplied by Apple. Had a chance to use the keyboard illumination last night and it was very nice, especially since I am a hunt and peck typist.
I havent had a chance to run it all out yet as I am too darned busy with work stuff. I will try to give it a work out this weekend using Maya and SolidThinking. I have used VPC 6 a bit and its considerably faster than it ran on my 12". Battery life seems to be OK. The timer WAAAAAY underestimates the actual time available. Yesterday it said 1:31 when I turned it on and the computer ran almost 2:30 hours while installing software. As of now on 99% charge it calls for 2:01. Energy savings are set to Automatic, screen is 3 bars, Airport on, BT off, wireless trackball plugged in, keyboard ill is on. Pics of the arrival and a mild comparison between my old Gen1 Ti 400 at http://homepage.mac.com/laszlomarkos/PhotoAlbum1.html
All in al I am very happy with my purchase and feel this will do me well for the next few years as the old Ti did before retirement.

Boy! You must have been busy if you got it Monday and didn't comment about it until now! Congrats! Mine comes tomorrow, I hopes.

It would have been funny if you had gone under the table and shot a "bottom" picture of the two laptops on top of each another...

Yeah I noticed this too. When I was calibrating my battery it had 80%, I turned Performace to Max and full brightness w/ Airport running. Timer said it only had 1:00, real time passed by before it went to sleep was 1:33.
