I have the first of the white dual usb iBooks. Is it hard to replace the hard drive? I am great at working on desktop computers and have dabbled on some junk notebooks. The Applecare is almost up so I figure I would get a bigger hard drive. Where can I find detailed instructions or is this best left to the pro's?

You'll probably have no trouble doing it yourself. Getting the case open is the biggest challenge, the rest is easy. However it would serve you well to find some instructions. I don't have any URLs to help you, but someone will.

I did exactly this, just over a month ago; it's not too hard as long as you have the right tools and label all the screws as you remove them.

Also do a search in this forum, as there's been plenty of threads on this subject.
