Has anyone ordered a powerbook 17" online, and if so do you have a long waiting period?
I'm purchasing a new 17 through a friend who works at apple and he's hooking me up with the friends and family discount (not the 25% off one).
the funny thing is he ordered the powerbook yesterday and for some odd reason the shipping date was the same day. i thought it must have been either an error or just really great shipping service. I did pay express shipping so i was hopeful that it would arrive at least the next day. but then I received an email from Apple stating that my order was not going to ship as scheduled. on the email it said due to low supply your powerbook wont ship until 9-26-03, which is today, the next day! it doesn't make sense.
of course i didn't receive my powerbook and i've yet to receive the new letter from apple stating the powerbook wont ship until whatever date they write on the mail. i'm not upset because my friend did warn me that education and normal customers get theirs first.
so i'm just trying to get a general idea and i'm wondering how many of you have ordered your 17's and how long are your estimated shipping dates? from what i've heard the 15's have been flying off the shelves and the 17's have just been cruising off with not nearly as much demand.
