I just got a new 12" PowerBook on Friday and I took it for a test drive at night, I was frankly surprised to see the amount of pre-installed application on it. It's running 10.2.7, and it had all the iLife application (naturally), such as iTunes, iMovie, iPhoto, and iDVD (I wasn't expecting iDVD, 'cause I thought that iDVD wasn't available for free, but I could be wrong). However, the biggest surprise I got was that my PowerBook was pre-installed with Microsoft Office X. I have a buddy who bought the old 15" Titanium PowerBook 1GHz (at the beginning of the year) and I distinctly remembered that there was hardly that many pre-installed application on his PowerBook (I was there with him when he powered up his PowerBook). He definitely did not have Microsoft Office X installed, and he had to hunt a copy down himself.

Did all the new PowerBook (12", 15" & 17") comes preloaded with all this stuff ?

Do you have the Superdrive model? If so, that's why you have iDVD.

As for Office - it's a demo version that will expire in 30 days. They've been shipping with this for a while now.

I'm glad to see that GraphicConverter is still included. I don't think you can update it to the latest version however - kind of a bummer since the one apple includes is getting a little old.

I was definitly glad to see Graphics Converter, as being a switcher, I missed the equivelent of having MS Paint in the OS somewhere. I never really looked at what my used G4 Cube came with, since it has always had OS X on it since I bought it.
