After an exasperating week of kernel panics very random, Apple had me do a clean install, which was supposed to leave my data intact and create a previous System folder for OS.

What resulted was no previous system folder and no saved data.

Apple prompted me step by step. Argh !

Does anyone have 10.2.8 install that I could get to reinstall please?

Most importantly was the chalkboard font which was substituted on much of my work.

10.2.8 created no issues for me; it was my initial method of restoring when the Powerbook arrived. I evidently created two system files when I moved my backed up data (instead of my user profile folder) which confused things on many jobs.

Please help with a 10.2.8 install.

Thanks ahead of time.

An Archive and Install would have kept your data intact. A Clean Install would have wiped your drive of all data.
I can't believe Apple would have walked you through a Clean Install if they knew you wanted to keep your data intact.

.2.8 has been completely pulled as it was so bad.

I would stay well clear.

I would just run a clean install off your 'restore' DVD/CD and update from there...

Peace,

Marc
