Is anyone still anxiously waiting for the 10.2.8 update? Gotta get my Battery readouts to be correct before going on a presentation trip with my Powerbook! Anyone?

I would post this in the OS X forum... you may get some more knowledgeable responses.

However I wouldn't hold your breath on it! From what I saw of 10.2.8 is was pretty flawed in most ways...

What version of the OS are you currently using? how come the readout is incorrect? I thought that all the builds up to now had sorted the battery readout issues...

Peace,

Regarding presentations :

Anything that can possible go wrong will. Be prepared. Powercord. Powercord. Survey the room first, test your setup, test your presentation if possible. Bring extra batteries. But most importantly pray.

OK my setup once again is PB 17" Rev A , never had a problem until now after 10.2.8 update from 10.2.6

Everything for me is good except the battery readout. I mean even on my Powerbook G3 Pismo 500 Firewire it does not effect the battery read out! But why the wacky readout on the PB 17" ?

For example, takes a reported less time of about 1 hour to charge a full battery.....and 1 hour for full depletions from 100% as opposed to approximately a 2 and a half hours to charge a battery from 0% and the same vice versa.

Apple reps are just saying that 10.2.8 effects Networking...nothing else on their forums, applecare, genius bar seems to accept the fact that many powerbook Al users are getting wacky readouts like mine......

One applecare person said to use the powerbook without batteries and pure AC juice until the next revision of Update....(and I'd like to say for all those that think I didn't do anything after the update, that I HAVE reset everything as told by APPLE CARE and Apple Manuals....I DID do the Battery Recalibrations more than once...I DID reset Power Management) but no, the problem persisted....

All I'm saying is that Apple should release some form of notice as to what had happen and what we should do. A note to the public as they have done concerning 10.2.8 and Networking, but also addressing battery problems in Powerbooks.

Thus Monday, and still no update on the OS or status of what are we supposed to do.
