Hey all,
just wondering if any of you have experienced this weird little bug. After I started the thirty day office trial I noticed that my hard drive was clicking and was never spinning down. I was really worried that it might be a hardware problem only a few days out of the box. The only thing that would stop the drive from spinning up every few seconds was to launch one of the Office Apps. I removed the whole suite, and voila! The hard drive is now behaving itself. I'm really glad the fix is so easy, because I wasn't ready to part with my PB for a service call after only a few days of ownership. Finally, this appears to only be a problem with the trial versionl. I got the student version at my college bookstore and there is no problem. Must be something to do with the program counting down to the end of the trial. Silly Microsoft, bugs are for windows!!!!!

Never heard of the trial bug myself, but with M$, nothing surprises me...

I too use an Edu version of office, and so far it is relatively solid... However things do play up now and again which I guess is only to be expected.

Glad you got it sorted anyway, and congrats on the Powerbook!!

Peace,

MArc
