I got a g4 upgrade for my pismo - great great value. I've had no hardware problems with it - and it make OS X a whole lot zippier - for everyday tasks, it gives the machine a bit more kick.
I'm personally waiting for a couple generations of g5 or maybe a g5 powerbook before I upgrade to new hardware.

Kinda on-topic, off topic but will the current AlBooks be cpu upgradable. I'm looking at right now, not sure if that's soldered or socketed.

Any developer using Panther with one of the Daystar upgrades? I'm not sure I want to be stuck at Jaguar if I invest.

That's a good point to keep in mind, also contact the vendor to see what there support is of Panther. If your going to plunk down some cash you want to make sure its compatible with Panther.
