Hi,

I just got my AL 15" Powerbook with a Combo Drive. I noticed the cd needs to be inserted almost all the way before the drive catches it and pulls it in.

I remember on my Ti Book I just inserted it in slightly and the drive pulled the disc in.

Has anyone else experienced this with the new Powerbooks???

Thanks

I also have the new powerbook with a combo drive and I have to stick the CD in almost all the way. But I don't know if that's a problem since this is my first slot-loading laptop.

To me, it isn't a problem.

We have a combo 15" here in the office and you have to put it in almost all the way before it catches.

It's also a really loud drive.

It is supposed to do that. Mine was doing it and it scared me. . . so I checked the manual. I guess they did it to keep from wearing these things out so quickly.
