Is there a way to watch and record TV on the new 15" Powerbook. I would like to use an S-Video connection if possible which would run from a DirecTV receiver. Thanks

if you're going to just use the directv receiver as the source you might consider the hollywood dazzle dv bridge which just does encoding. apple sells it for $250. if you're looking for a Digital Video Recorder you could go with formac's studio tvr which is $399 but is like a tivo for your mac.

Well, i've ordered the El Gato Eye TV (www.elgato.com) to go with my 15". It's about 250 euros/$ and records just like the Tivo. You can burn CDs/DVDs with your recorded material (requires Toast). You can buffer the stream and skip commercials, works just great. It's a USB device and the quality is like that of a video-cd.

EYE TV is supposed to be really nice and the sample TV captures that I've seen support that.
Past Macs: PB 100, IIsi, WGS 6150, iMac (Rev C; strawberry), G4 Cube (450Mhz/Radeon), iBook (Dual USB; 500Mhz)

Current Mac: 700Mhz eMac/1GB/40GB/GeForce2/Airport

No CardBus internal solutions? Searching Google reviews a few (older) mentions of some, but it would seem they never caught on?

One less brick to lug would be great! Someone should make one. If they can make it use the AirPort antenna as a TV antenna I'd be extra happy! If not, something hanging off the card slot is fine.
