I got a 1.25GHz 15" on 9/18 one of the first two in a local dealer. It had two of the infamous white spots, high heat, and bad battery life. I agonized over bringing in because I expected to trade the white spots for bad pixels, but decided to do so and the dealer just got some more in yesterday.

The new has a perfect screen, no white spots and no bad pixels but the other differences surprised me. It has a Hitachi drive instead of a Fujitsu. They are both quiet the new one had more head seek noise and the trackpad button is a little stiffer. But everything else is better. The seams seem to fit better. The old one had a very slight wobble. The battery snaps in and out much better. But the biggest surprise is that this one runs much cooler. Doing the same apps, and using ThermographX to measure the four sensor temperatures it seems to run about 10F cooler all the time. It definitely feels much cooler to the touch. Running full tilt will still get it hot, but I was really surprised about the temperature difference.

Maybe there's an issue with the first run systems? This new one had a very chemical sense when I first opened the box like it had just been made. It's fine now, but it is clearly a later production run unit.
