It arrived a day EARLY. Yes, that's right. Everyone seems to be complaining about the wait and my BTO rev B 12"/Superdrive/60GB/256/APX is a beauty. Skipped over from Taiwan - Alaska - Indiana - New York City in a day and delivered this morning. For those of you aching to know about the infamous 'heat issue' - from what i can tell, it is largely solved. Much, much less heat. I've used the Rev a quite a bit - and it is a significant improvement. This one is a real beauty. For those of you refreshing the apple store/fed ex tracker every 2 mins, I can assure you, it's well worth the wait. Hang in there.

Three things:
1) Is there some type of hardware check I can to test all the hardware to get a final A-OK.
2) Where are these white-spots everyone is talking about, and how do i find them?
3) What are the known flaws with the 12". Can someone summarize them for me. Would be useful to check mine for these.

Thanks.

If you're asking these questions- stop. It seems you have agood unit- something that is not always reported on these forums. So rejoice! Don't look for the problems- if you don't have them, just bask in your glory and report the happy moments.

Why look for flaws when eveything is working. Stop in when you need a hand, but until then. enjoy!

I appreciate your advise. However, since I am new to Mac I wanted to get an idea of how I can test the hardware on my computer in one shot to know it is all A-OK. Kapisch?

use the apple hardware test cd that came with your mac

It's going to apss though.. trust me.

similarly, i don't believe there is a white spot issue with the 12"s just the 15"s

sounds like you got a good unit, i second the above recommendation, don't look for problems.. if they are they, they will find you.

i did a dead pixel check on a powerbook i bought a while ago, and found one, right in the middle.. i never would have seen it, after that, i saw it every time i looked at the screen..

ENJOY IT.

and yes, fwiw, i setup a new 12" the other day at work, and the heat issues absolutely seem resolved..didnt' even get warm when i ran xbench on it.
