I have a 700mhz 14.1" ibook and i did the spanning hack but time to time my external monitor will shake real weird and have weird stuff going on like the image will shift over. Is this maybe because my subwoofer for my speakers is near the monitor or is it the spanning hack?

Thanks

i am using the 800mhz 12" ibook and it does not happen to my second monitor. Why dont you try to move your subwoofer away from the monitor and see if it helps. I dont know. my hack works pretty well.

Move the speaker. Magnets can severely damage a CRT monitor unless they are shielded. I'm not sure if subs that come with computer speaker systems are shielded. The satellite speakers should be but I suspect that most manufacturers expect people to place subs under the desk.
