I'm thinking about selling my TiBook 667 DVI and buying a new 15" Aluminum PB. I just got the TiBook back from Apple for paint repair, and I would rather sell it now while it looks great and is still in warranty. The paint flaking could happen again. I use the TiBook almost exclusively on my lap in my recliner. I get a lot of productive work done that I wouldn't do sitting in a chair at my desktop. Is the heat from the new 15" PB any greater than that from the 667 DVI? I put a legal sized binder under the TiBook with small pads at the rear to raise it up, and the heat is no problem for long periods. I really like the new aluminum models, but I don't want to get something that is too hot to comfortably use on my lap. Thanks for any info!

The heat seems pretty much the same to me- though I use a pad of paper too (pretty much everywhere I take it, the paper pad keeps the bottom from getting scuffed too). The aluminum model doesn't seem to get chipped at all actually, so cosmetically it should remain for a long time. Just keep it clean and take off your wrist watch when you use it (I made that mistake with my tibook).
