I know this isn't strictly speaking a Powerbook question, but there seems to be such a lot of knowledge among the users of the group that I thought I'd ask it anyway and see if anyone has any suggestions.

BBC radio has a fantastic archive of programmes on their website (http://www.bbc.co.uk) that are available to listen to on the web using real player only. I would love to be able to download some of the programmes and transfer them to my iPod. Is there a way of doing that?

Thanks,
Jan

Waiting impatiently for my new 15Al 1.2GHz Powerbook.... and praying for no white spots

There is. It's a bit of a workaround and not as convenient as it could be but it works well.

First, go to Ambrosia Software and get yourself a free copy of WireTap

This will allow you to record any streaming audio to your drive as an AIFF file. Launch the application, then launch the program you want to listen to in Real player. Press record on WireTap and capturing will commence. Then use iTunes to convert the captured file into AAC or mp3 format.

I have got a collection of BBC programs on my own iPod that I've recorded that way.
