Does 17" have same "play" to the lid as 15"?

Apparently when the 15" models are closed, the little bumpers on the side don't quite contact. So when you pick up the closed machine, the lid has some play, squeezing shut more and springing back.

Do the 12" and 17" do the same thing? (I know each of the models has a bit different bumper design.)

TIA

There are no bumpers on the 17". Are there on the 15"? I thought there were bumpers only on the 12" model.

They are around the latches.

Oh, those things. They don't even touch, so I hadn't considered them bumpers.

If they don't touch, that answers my question I think--the 17" must pop open and shut a little too. So... one more thing I CAN'T use to help me decide

(And the 15" bumpers are at the sides by the Airport antennas).

I can see why some flex is necessary to make the latch work--maybe not the best latch design then, but it sounds like a pretty harmless issue.

Mine does exactly this, but I haven't had one mark from the keyboard on the screen since I bought this machine. Mine's an original model 17".
