Do not update to 10.2.8 with your new al powerbook 15 (might affect other models)

your trackpad will stop working on some models (mine for example)

This is a known issue with apple support, they are trying to fix it now. I will post a fix if they are able to fix mine.

I got my powerBook an hour ago some luck!

Yes it is looking more and more like a hardware issue that just happened to happen when I updated to 10.2.8, there is a known issue with the TiBook apparently that is why they told me it was the same with mine. Now they are telling me it is not a software issue....

my luck....

My Ti 1 Gig, SD has worked fine since the "new" 10.2.8 update. It's worked fine, and fixed the low battery life that the "first" 10.2.8 caused.

*chime*

My 1.25 15" Al works fine after the 10.2.8 (6R73) update. The battery meter was borked from day 1 so it was nice seeing the battery meter reflect actual time (3 - 3.5 hours) vs. the "let's hang at 1.5hrs remaining" for 2.5 hours.

Just purchase my 15" last night, installed a bunch of software and did the Apple updates for Final Cut 4 and the new 10.2.8 patch around midnight last night and all is well.

Love the laptop!

Here we go again....

Both 10.2.8s worked fine on my Ghz Ti. (just like every other update I've ever installed on a PB since 10.0.0).

I know, I know...this doesn't mean that nobody has problems. But the problems also don't mean that everything is screwed and that x.x.x should be avoided like the plague. Hearing this with just about every update gets really old.
