Hi all,

I'm a "long time listener, first time caller" ... I have to firstly say, this forum is by far the best resource I've found regarding Powerbooks (and anything Apple!). My user name is "pb_soon", as being, no I don't have a Mac yet and I'm about to "switch". I've just been waiting for the 15Al and Panther ... now that both is here (or at least about to be), I will be ordering/getting my PB15 next month - can't hardly wait ... although some of the posts here do seem discouraging ... BUT ... yes I fully understand that people generally only post negativity and that there are many more "flawless" PBs out there. As much as it is a lottery in receiving a "flawless" PB15, as they say "you have to be in it to win it!"

Now that the intro is over, what I did want to ask is, for those who did purchase a PB, is the version of OmniGraffle a full version? And if so, what version is it? The reason why I ask is that in my job, I do occassionally use MS Visio and as far as I know, OmniGraffle seems to be the closest in the Mac world. Also, does anyone use this and can anyone provide a feedback on comparsion between Visio and OmniGraffle?

Thanks in advance.

There is a new version of OmniGraffle available. When you launch the program choose the "check for update" button on the pull down menus. It will tell you that version 3.0 and 3.0 professional are available and take you to the Omni group web site where demos can be downloaded.

I just bought the new professional version, and it looks very promising.

Version 2.2 can be downloaded for free if you have version 2 already. Version 2 came with my 15" powerbook as a part of the included software bundle.

Hope this helps.
