I can't seem to remember the rules of RAM, so someone please enlighten me.

I just got a new-to-me iBook today. The RAM slot is empty. It's a 700 MHz bought brand new in March 2003, so it's a newer model. I also have an original dual-USB 500 MHz with a 256 MB RAM upgrade chip in it. It's PC100. I know the newer iBook is PC133, but will my PC100 RAM chip work? I plan to buy a 512 stick for this beast but for the next few days I'd like to use the 256 while I have it.

Will it work?

all iBooks can use either PC100 or PC133... They only have 66mhz or 100mhz system bus.

Oh. Good news then. So I was mistaken that iBooks are 133. Good to know. Time to install some RAM.

I would purchase PC100 RAM for it when you do upgrade. Some of the PC133 has problems downclocking to run at the slower bus speed.
