I just noticed that my battery doesn't sit flush in my brand new 15" aluminum Powerbook. I only removed it once when I installed new RAM (hyper-careful I am).

Has anyone else seen this?
15" Aluminum Powerbook G4, 1.25GHz, 1GB, 80GB. Airport Extreme. 4G iPod 60GB.

I've never seen an Apple laptop with a 100% completely flush battery when they are mounted on the bottom (as opposed to slot loading ones like PC laptops typically have). My 12" PB has a few millimeters sticking out on one side, but the rest of it is pretty close to completely flush on the bottom. It's really nothing to worry about unless it's extremely loose and causes the battery to lose contact or fall out which is rare. I'm happy with my 12" battery fit because my previous TiBook battery stuck out even more.

Mine is practically perfect (new 15).

Want to see bad? Have a look at an iBook.

I just checked mine, and it's not the actual battery that's not flush as it fits tight, it's the actual battery cover which is removable. There's posts on Apple's forums where people tell you how to remove the cover and bend the cover a bit if you want a better looking fit.
