Has anyone had a chance to run Intellij IDEA on one of the new 15 in. Al Powerbooks? If anyone has, could someone please submit any scientific or unscientific performance observations that they have. I’m getting ready to buy a new Mac and am on the horns of a dilemma. I’d rather get the Powerbook for the portability, but I need a machine that can adequately run this app. I’m used to running it on a P III box (performs well) and I’ve tried it on a 550 MHz . G4 box (performs ok under light to moderate usage). Obviously it will perform better on the new Powerbook than it does on the 550 MHz. G4, but will it run well enough on the Powerbook to have a productive experiences doing Java development, or should I save myself the hassle and consider looking at a G5 and learn to live without the portablity?
Any feedback would be appreciated.
