Hi all. I'm considering the purchase of a 12" Powerbook with an Apple 17" Studio Display.

Now, I have a question about how the 12" Powerbook works in correlation with the 17" Apple Studio Display. From what I've read on this board, it seems that I can keep the 12" Powerbook lid closed, and then push a button on the Studio Display panel that will power on the computer. This is nice because then I don't have to always open and close the powerbook to push the power button when I want to turn it on. For this setup, I would also purchase a blue tooth mouse and keyboard.

Can anybody here confirm that I can indeed use the Studio Display to turn "on" the powerbook when its closed, as this may have some impact on my purchase decision?!?! Maybe I'm being a little picky, but it would be a nice feature to have. Thanks!!!

I'm not exactly sure if you can use the Power Button on the Studio Display to power it on, but I do know you can hit a button on your keyboard while the 12" PBs lid is closed & it asleep and it'll wake the external display up.

I would like to echo the above users reply. The Apple documentation states that you need to wake your PB up with an external keyboard. That being said, let us know if it works with the Apple Display power button.
