My third day with the albook: PERFECT!

She has handled very intense audio processing stuff that I've managed to throw at it. It's perfect.

Don't worry about the spots...please!...I just wanted to post this because I was playing around on the powerbook and remembered someone from here stating that only people with problems post on this site. Well, it's true...

The albook rocks!

ps. This is my first laptop, it really changes life ha?

I'm about to order both a dual G5 and a 15" AlBook, but the "white spots" issue is of concern. I'm thinking I'll wait a few weeks to see if the issue gets sorted out, and I'll get Panther to boot. Not a bad deal.

Does anyone know exactly HOW prevalent the white spots/defective LCD is on the new PBs? Is there a silent majority here whose PBs are just fine?

I would say there is a huge percentage of people with good powerbooks...probably why you dont't hear of them!

in my office there are now three 15 inch and one 17 inch new PBs. ALL PERFECT in every way except battery life. the 17 inch is getting great battery life but two of the three 15 inch running rev 10.2.8 are only getting about 2:45 minutes on average. the 17 inch is well into 4:45 to 5 hours and the 15 inch I use is getting about 3:15.

No latch problem
No white spots
No dead pixels
No heat problem

Hope 10.3 can help on the battery shortfalls.

By the way, 90% of Mac users globally just USE IT and don't come and cruise the forums all day. The ones who frequent the forums are the perfectionists who get into every detail on their macs and hence you will hear lots of issues of not seeing perfection here. Of the six people who use these 4 PBs, I am the only one who comes to these fora. The others just happily plug along on their Macs.

Sending mine in for repairs...

No Latch Problems
No Pixel Problems
No WhiteSpots
Flawless

One little thing though, TRACKPAD doesn't work!!!
Instead of replacing it I just want to have it repaired, I don't to run the risk of one of the major issues to come.
