This should be easy to implement. There's enough power in the laptops to run the Cinema Displays isn't there?

The power draw from the backlights on the large 22-23" cinema displays would likely kill the Powerbook batteries in no time. OTOH, it's also likely that most PowerBook owners have their notebooks plugged in when they're driving an external display. So I agree with Fellow2000. And since DVI is part of ADC it wouldn't be much of a problem to at least drive external DVI monitors. A pigtail adapter should handle the ADC->DVI conversion easily - kind of like the pigtail adapter Apple supplies for FW800->FW400.....joe

the ADC connector is a bit bigger than the DVI connector, so using DVI might have saved a few bits of space.

But also think that even if the laptop is plugged in to wall power, you're pushing a LOT of power through the laptop and right back to the display.

Just get the DVI-ADC adapter and be done with it.

I could see the possibility of a reverse Y adapter.. basically a second port next to the DVI on the laptop, plug in a small Y combiner and you have ADC ^_^

But that'd also kick the price up a few houndred bucks... and make the transformer MUCH bulkier.

 not like you're going to be carrying around your desktop display anyway
