My 1GHz SD Ti PB is approaching its 1st birthday - Well OK, not until December. I am thinking of getting an extended warranty. Any recommendations about where to buy the legit package - and for what price ? I though there were places - other than Apple - who sold them...

Oh...may post this other tidbit elsewhere, but the other night, I heard my Ti's fan on - while the PB was OFF and simply charging...Is that freaky?

For online stores, the cheapest is around $260 - I bought mine from thenerds.net previously:

If you happen to know a student, they can purchase it for $239 for typical academic pricing. The only other cheaper offers have been with certain colleges, but may need to be bought when the machine was purchased. There might be some cheaper on ebay.

I still recommend Safeware insurance .... it is not a warranty, but covers everything from theft to screen damage to lightning to pet or children problems.

Safeware.com $35/$M
