hola

i was just curious unto whether or not the power inverter i currently own will be sufficient (AND SAFE) to power my 15" Al for a road trip?

there it is.. and as you can see the specs are:

140 watts continuous
250 watts high surge
12V AC to 110V DC

I have the exact same inverter and I use it with my 15" Al all the time. No problems so far.

I'm not an EE but the specs all seem to check out.

I think I saw at powerpage.org that the new 15" power adaptors use 65W. Your inverter is rated over double that! You'll be fine, and can run some other stuff, too. (2 EE degrees)

Hey... this is my first post to the macnn group. very cool!

You'll be fine with that, but if you have the ability, you might want to consider an iGo Juice. It works AC and DC, wall outlet, car cigarette lighter and airplane seat, all in one little package. And looks nice with the new Apple laptops. You can also buy different tips for your cell phone or PDA for use the same unit. Really cuts down on lugging all your chords and cables around. Just a thought.
