Is it ok to leave the 15" plugged in all the time (it's my main computer right now), or is it better to use it at full charge until it runs out, plug it in, and then unplug it once it's at full charge once more?
Considering how bad battery life is right now (a little over 2 hours at most), I don't want to jack up my battery any further. These babies are not cheap. -_-

Yu should have no problems with leaving it on the charger all the time when it is not mobile. If I am at home mine is always plugged in.

^ yes, but do any older powerbook users know if this has any type of affect on the overall battery life over time? That's what I am a little worried about in light of the issues of "battery memory", although it tends to be less of an issue with Lithium Ion batteries.

<similar response to a reply of mine in another thread> I've noticed that in PC laptops, especially Dells, those that get left plugged in all the time have horrible battery longevities. Dell sucks giant hamster droppings.

I would say it is ok to run the PB of the mains after the battery is charged. In fact it may well be beneficial, as I understand it the batteries life is decreased by the number of charge cycles it does.
Another thing is not to use the battery indicator in the menubar to show if it is still charging but to use the power plug's light (orange-charging, green-charged) as a better indicator of charge state.
As for running off the battery (having abused my first battery), I would suggest only charging when the battery is near empty (not totally empty- this is also not good for it). Also probably best to let it charge up uninterrupted. You don't have to be manic about charging but if you constantly charge/discharge just one scope of its full charge (eg using to 80% then charging) it will eventually only see that (eg 20%) as being its capacity, a la dells.
I still get 4+ hrs after nearly a year of getting my new battery running on a 3yr old ti500

I'm also worried about the battery issue. I heard that some people remove the battery once it's fully charged so that you can just run it from the mains? Is that possible? Or would anybody recommend it?
