I'm not simply asking for links. I'd prefer feedback from owners that have already bought (or tested) sleeves or slip covers on their new 15" Al PowerBooks. I have several good carrying cases and am looking for some extra protection inside the case. So comments about fit in particular (loose, snug, etc) would be helpful. But feedback on materials and design (soft, reinforced, zippered, buckled or open) would be appreciated also. Thanx........joe

I got the Waterfield slipcase (www.sfbags.com) and I'm really happy with it. I ordered the original 15" (I think it's their 15T size now) and it will fit the new Al Book, but the fit is really tight. The neoprene is almost a second case inside the ballistic nylon covering, and it's tough to get it into that. Once you do, it's a nice super snug fit.

Because I had initially asked about the sizing (or maybe they're just a really good business), they sent me the updated size and told me to go ahead and use the original until it came. The 15" Al slides into this case much easier, but it's not loose on the sides. There is a little more front/back room, not to the extent that you would store anything else in the case, but you're powerbook isn't going to slip out of it. That said, I paid the extra money and got the flap attached. This closes down with velcro and works really well...AlBook is pretty well protected.

Another option I didn't get, you can have D-rings attached to allow a carrying strap. There's a handy little loop standard on the bags at the bottom to give you something to grasp when pulling out the powerbook, it's a great touch. All in all it's a really good slipcase for protection, although some might consider it a little bulky. If you don't mind a little extra effort, get the smaller size slipcase and let your AlBook stretch it out.
