I ordered a 15" Powerbook yesterday & I'm sort of nervous about some of the problems I've read with the quality issues with the new Powerbook, in addition to my first hand experience with the heat issues when using the Powerbooks in several Apple Stores.

My question is, do those white spots on the display happen over time or were they there immediately when you received your Powerbook.

I will not accept a repair on a brand new Powerbook over a known issue. Of course if the spots are there immediately I assume Apple will replace it, but if it can happen a week or two down the road I'm not so sure.

My first PB (ordered the day of the Stevenote) had the spots right out of the box. The replacement they sent took about a week for new spots to develop. I guess I'll just live with them until Apple really addresses the problem. How will we know when they finally have a fix?
