My iBook screen flickers a bit when I move the screen slightly. If I tilt it forward more than about an inch, it goes complete black until I close the lid completey and re-open it.

It seems to me like a backlight issue, and I think I may need service done on it...Any Suggestions?

My 700 iBook screen began to flicker blue. It got progressively worse and I finally sent it in to Applecare. They fixed it with a four day turn-around. I understand it was a switch that can be user repaired if one doesn't have Applecare. A search will lead to the posts on the repair.

Same thing happened to my 3 month iBook 800 MHz this morning. Picked it up off my desk and the screen went nuts with wierd blocks and pattens and the system locked up. Rebooted multiple times and it did the same thing. Looks like it's back to Apple

Boooo this problem.

I have a similar issue...except that the screen's backlight does not function until at a certain angle. I tried looking for a replacement display module...but Apple won't sell 'em and pbparts.com wants $200!!!

The above link gives some good detail about repairing the module.
