I thought I was different, but alas! I have now joined the ranks of people who are having problems with their new powerbooks. Mine is a 12" Albook with a warped case, a wobble, and a dead pixel in the middle of the screen. I took it back to the Apple store where I got it and they sent it out for repair on Friday. The dude there told me that the case warp and wobble would be taken care of, but he wasn't sure about the dead pixel. I'm not holding my breath, so I guess 2 out of 3 ain't bad. Kinda too bad this is my first Mac. Apple isn't exactly making the best first impression on me.

Is anyone else having case warping problems on the 12" Albooks? It seems like most of the issues are with the 15" models.

Sorry to hear about your powerbook.
Unfortunately, dead pixels are still common on LCD screens even though the technology has gotten better. I doubt if Apple will fix it, that's considered normal quality for an LCD to have one dead pixel. But they should be able to fix the wobble, that is definitely a defect in manufacturing. By the way, you need to have 3-5 dead/stuck pixels (generally around the same area) for it to be qualified defective. At least you don't have the white spot problems alot of the 15 inchers are having.')

Yeah, I'm glad I don't have the white spot problem. But I guess it really doesn't matter what problem I do have, I still am without my computer for a week because they screwed up somehow. I was really surprised to see the case start warping. It was perfect when I received it. Odd.
