Hello everyone. I need my powerbook today. This morning I thought I would go ahead and install the 10.2.8 update since I had the time. After the computer rebooted, it just comes up with that classic folder with the face flashing a question mark, like there is nothing to boot from. What happened to my powerbook????? Please help!!!!! I really need it today.

You can archive and install from the system DVD, to revert the system in its original state. This will preserve your documents and settings. Good luck.

One more thing. I hope you learned the lesson: never, ever, do system updates when you need absolutely your computer to be up and working. NEVER.

when this happens you can also try and boot holding down the option key, or run DiskWarrior which will re-bless system folders, and may save you the trouble of archive and install.
