Hi all,

I'm keeping a friend's 23-inch Cinema Display while she's out of the country for a month (whoopee!).

I'm using it with my rev B 12-inch PowerBook. Question -- the display has a USB connection as well as DVI, but it seems to work just fine with only the DVI connected to the PB, even with the lid closed. But I assume there's a USB connection for a reason. Could just using the DVI cause any problems?

Thanks in advance.

Well ADC runs power to the display & the USB ports on the display, however using just the display w/o the USB cable connected is just fine so long as you don't wanna use those ports on the back of the display.

Thanks, AssassyN, for the quick reply and info! I figured it was fine, but it's good to have it confirmed by someone who knows a lot more about this stuff than I do.

PS: I'm the UNC-Chapel Hill employee who replied to one of your posts a while back. Sorry about that Georgia Tech game! (At least you didn't lose on the last play of the game, like Carolina did against ASU.)
