Since purchasing my new pb, I must say I've been less than impressed with ADC's Customer Service skills. Anyone else have this problem?

Your kidding right? I have been treated like **** thru them. All I got when I as on the phone asking for a replacement, was the fact that I am cheap and got the computer for a good price so I should be happy.

Thats bullshit they offered the plan to developers, therefore there should be no thing going on about me being cheap because I got 20% off my purchase.
I just went thru normal technical support and it was 100 times easier then putting up with the bullshit that adc gives out.

One other thing I forgot about...

Student Developers through ADC are supposed to your their equipment for testing purposes ONLY! I'm like wtf... I'm not supposed to be doing school work on here as well... not according to this stupid in ADC. She just kept repeating the system is to be used ONLY for development and testing purposes.

Oh and the next time you try to complain about the delay in getting your stuff... apparently in the find print of the terms and conditions... ADC members are allowed to wait 6 weeks before recieving product so the fact it only took 2 weeks should have made me jump for joy according this individual.

I hate to say it but no matter how bad M$ is, they still know how to treat their developers.

I know this sounds dumb but I am guessing that ADC is the customer service reps for Apple. Sorry I'm a newbie to the Apple world.

Actually no, ADC is the Apple Developer Connection where developers get hardware discounts.

That's what it says in the terms and conditions, which you agreed to when you purchased. It's nice and clear. Go read them yourself if you don't believe me. If you're a student, you're entitled to the educational discount, which has no such restrictions.

Thats not what I was told when I called to first inquire about the Student ADC Program a year ago before purchasing it. But that's not uncommon at Apple to be told different things by different people.

So, what were you told?

Go to Apple's ADC Hardware Discount page, and it clearly says:
Please read the Terms and Conditions of the Developer Hardware Purchase Program prior to making your selection.
Clearly displayed in that PDF:
6. Participants in the ADC Hardware Purchase Program agree not to resell or otherwise transfer any items purchased for a period of at least one year from the date of shipment, and agree that all equipment ordered under the ADC Hardware Purchase Program will be used only for the purpose of developing software and/or hardware products that will be sold for use with Apple products.
If Apple misrepresented the T&C to you, you might be able to return your computer and claim a full refund, but I'm not entirely sure. As with all these things, you should read the legal small print.

Jsut because it says "testing purposes" doesn't give Apple the right to send any ADC member a POS machine, bar none.

How can you "develop" for Apple on a machine that isn't functioning correctly?

I've had positive run-ins w/ ADC myself, but there's no excuse for a busted machine under warranty, it should be fixed.

I fully support any developers who bought a machine with the ADC discount complaining if they get shitty service, but if people abuse Apple's discounts and violate the terms & conditions, I don't see why they should expect to get full customer service.
