This time around, after much research, debate and cosideration, not to mention lot's of visits to the local apple store, I decided to purchase a mac over a pc. I'll spare you the details, but suffice it to say I've jumped in with both feet. Recently I purchased a 17" pb 1.33Ghz with two 23" HD Cinema display's. One for the home, the other for the office.
The concern I have is that when I use the pb with the display closed it tends to get extremely hot. I worry that the heat generated will in time damage the 17" display of the pb.
Reading through various mac forums I have yet to discover a difinitive answer for my concern. Can I run the pb for long periods of time with the display closed? Regardless of the heat? Or should I leave the display opened for better airflow and ventilation? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, and by the way, for you passionate mac lovers out there, and I know your out there, you folks were right all along. Life is better with a mac. I guess you could say, I'm now "thinking diffferntly".

Welcome to the wonderful world of mac computing where everything is simply more enjoyable.....I don't think you have to worry about heat when running closed but I would be sure that your bottom and side ventilation is as open as can be. My experience is that these machines are rugged and designed to deal with most things that we users can think of doing to them. Just don't drop it or spill stuff on it!
