Every time I put my baby to sleep I get a high pitch sound from the upper right side of the keyboard. It is quite noticable even though there is some ambient sound or even iPod playing through the stereo for that matter.

Any suggestions?

Yeah, it seems to happen sometimes... not all the time. I'm stunned.

Are you connected to external speakers? Try either disconnected it or turning off the speakers. It might just be interference.

No external speakers here. It is a very strange noise. Sounds like an old tv, how they get that high pitched squeal when shut off etc.

have you seen my other thread? I don't know if i have heard the same noise like yours. It happened when it was using power adapter and battery. I think it was coming from the speaker.

That happened to my G3 iBook when I had it. Unplug the power adapter while it sleeps and it will go away.

I actually had to put my powerbook to sleep in order to stop this horrible noise, and i am so frustrated because i still have yet to know the cause. It doesn't happen too often...
