Ok, fire up your Terminal app (found in Macintosh HD in the /Applications/Utilities folder), and copy and paste the following line at the prompt followed by return:
ioreg -l | grep -i IOBatteryInfo
You may have to make your terminal window wider in order to show the full result. He's what I get:
"IOBatteryInfo" = ({"Capacity"=3917,"Amperage"=1200,"Current"=3904," Voltage"=12512,"Flags"=1090519045})
This is a readout of the battery stats. Of most interest is "Capacity" - which is the amount of charge the battery held when last fully charged - and "Current" - which is the amount of charge currently left in the battery.
If you guys could post the value you have for Capacity, and some other details, I think we will be able to start and get a clearer picture of where we all stand with regard to battery life.
Copy and paste this into your post:

... and here's an example, based on my findings to kick us off:
==DETAILS========================================= ===========
Capacity: 3917
Model: Standard 15" 1.25GHz AlBook
OS: Panther 10.3.0
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Usage Scenario: light usage (constant safari, mail every 5min, SubEthaEdit)
Timed Battery Life: unplugged at 11am, forced sleep at 2:30pm, so 3.5hrs
Airport (On/Off): On
Bluetooth (On/Off): Off
Screen Brightness (bars): 1bar

I've also found that the Capacity varies each time I discharge/charge, so maybe there is a way to increase Capacity by discharging/charging in a certain way. Maybe leaving it sleep for a number of hours once the battery has drained before charging it? Maybe that's the next exercise!
Thanks heaps everyone!
