I was contemplating installing Panther this weekend, then I saw this post:

Has anyone managed to upgrade to Panther and kept their self-upgraded (or MCE perhaps?) SuperDrive working?

If so, how?

Any help/feedback appreciated.

PowerBook
Panther
Shipped SuperDrive

System/Library/Frameworks/DiscRecording.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/DiscRecordingEngine.framework/Versions/A/Resources/DeviceSupport.drprofile

I am having the same issue with my UJ-815A in my PB500. Would love to get it solved.

By following this hint:

Mac OS X Hints Panther Burner

I am able to get my Superdrive working for iDVD, iPhoto, and Disc Copy. No luck with Finder and iTunes. But it does work with Toast 6 and Firestarter.
