I bought my 12" powerbook last week, but i haven't work on it until the past two day. After installing panther, a electronic like, tire screeching type of noise popping up last night and this morning. It was so horrible, i have to put my book to sleep immediately.

I've search the forum and notice a lot of people having this issue. But do you guys bring it back to apple or just ignore it? I have a pismo and it has never made this kind of noise before.

I don't know where the sound's coming from. But it sounds like when you have put two microphone near together and it is very annoying. I just used apple's hardware test CD to exam my powerbook. But it didn't detect any problem. As i said, i did a search on this forum and few people have this problem too. I just want to know if it is a well known problem and what is the best solution for this. I don't want to send back my powerbook to apple, i just bought it and i have spent less than a day to work on it.
