I've got some (apparently) typical problems with my wallstreet g3 - the audio jack broke and got lost inside the machine and sound doesn't work anymore; the hinge is broken. That's all that's wrong with it. My main computer is last year's TiBook so I don't really need the wallstreet but I've been thinking about fixing the sound problem .

I could use the wallstreet as a cheap, quiet, webserver and mp3 player if I fixed the soundcard. I started thinking about it after hearing other people say the Wallstreet is one of the best computers Apple ever made and that you can upgrade the chip to a g4 and all this stuff.

I'm not getting audio out of the speakers, does that mean my soundcard busted? How much should I plan on paying for the hardware to get this fixed? Is it worth the effort?
