If you load the intellimouse explorer OSX software, expose' adds the 5 mouse buttons, so can program them for the different expose' funtions. The mouse works much better with panther, the small skipping has gone away, and the speed can be set.

So there is no skipping what so ever? :/

GRRRRR haha..
Now I wish I didn't buy the apple mouse. Wasnt microsoft releaseing a new mouse anyways that runs with bluetooth? I think it was one with a better update time?
Maybe I will wait around for that?

On MS page for their mice, it lists 'new' next to the BT mouse. The casing looks the same, probably just updated hardware inside. I want a BT mouse, but I may end up using the Apple one despite the fact I really need a scroll wheel and right click at the least. I would be bringing this to school with me and I'm not sure how bad battery drain is on the other mice since there are no on/off switch like Apple's. I have a feeling it would be on all the time while being carried around since it would sense movement.

Wait a sec...does this mean that with Panther, the all 5 buttons on the MS Bluetooth mouse can be programmed? Is this just for Expose, or for any app through the Intellipoint software?

The only place I have seen where the extra buttons can be programed is expose' if you go the micsoft mouse software in the system pref's the mouses button contorls are not selectable. But if the expose's can see and take advantage of the 5 buttons, I dont see why other programs can't.

As far as the skipping I have not noticed any with Panther, Jaguar however was very noticable.

Oh, and the scroll wheel works fine..

As far as battery life, I have had the mouse for about a month and have not had to change batteries. The mouse is left on my desk at work, so I suppose that carring it around will shorted the battery life. Also the battery meter in the bluetooth app is blank with the MS mouse.

If a better driver came out this would be a great mouse. However when the Belkin bluetooth mouse comes out, I might retire the MS mouse to the the PC at home.

I've discovered that the wheel click acts as left mouse click on finder windows and applications. Also, if you dont program one of the other side buttons in expose' it will default to a left click.

This is great news for me, thanks. I have a 17", had the MS mouse about 2 months now and just today I put it up on a shelf after buying Panther. I may just install it today then. Finally a Bluetooth two button mouse that really works.

I am using the intellimouse explorer software in panther, and i am unable to program my mouse buttons to expose. How do you have it setup?

Once i installed intellimouse software expose stopped working with my mouse buttons.

The only way to make it work is the turn off intellimouse's control over the mouse, i have to disable it, then i have to set the sensitivity of the mouse using the apple stuff not the ms stuff.

This wouldnt be so bad but it removes 2 features, full adjustable sensitivity and programability of the other buttons on the mouse to functions like "back" and "forward"

I dont see how you can use both the ms driver and the apple driver at the same time, when i have the ms driver enabled, i can no longer use the expose settings because the ms driver has its own settings. can you elaborate on what your exact settings are?

I have the ms mouse settings disabled, I could never get any of them to work except for the pointer speed. If you go to the button page the mouse has a big red X across it. Which version of Intellimouse Explorer are you using?

Did you have the mouse options in expose' before you installed the ms drivers? I did a clean install of Panther and expose' only had screen and keyboard options until i installed the ms driver.

I had access to expose mouse functions from the begining, then i installed the ms drivers and i ran into these overlap mapping problems.

I think I just wiggled my mouse around and it was discovered and worked as soon as I installed Panther. You may want to reset the PRAM, etc. while restarting.
