anyone buy the speakers that come with the imac for their ibook?
I need new speakers and these always sound good at the store.

They won't work with the iBook as it doesn't have an Apple speaker jack.
From the Apple Store;
The analog-based speakers require systems with an Apple speaker minijack. They are not USB-based speakers. Currently, Apple Pro Speakers should only be used with the new G4-based iMac or the Power Mac G4 with minijack.

Something like these?! Okay, maybe a bit too expensive - though almost wish I'd bought them rather then the HK SoundSticks, but then Klipsch stuff was unavailable in the UK at the time.
Do a search in the Peripherals forum for suggestions. The Griffin PowerWave is an excellent suggestion - nice one, scottiB.
