Yesterday, after almost three years of service, "Sparky", my Powerbook G4 400's disc power adapter, stopped working. I knew there was a problem when the disk didn't spark when I plugged it in. Ordinarilly it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but I've been having trouble finding places in Calgary that have PB chargers in-stock.

Before I begin that quest, however, I need to confirm the compatibility of my Powerbook with the newer AC adapters. Does the white adapter for the newer TiBooks work with the original models? For that matter, do they work with the new Aluminum 15" models?

Part of me wants to say that this is a sign that I should upgrade, but I really wanted to wait until after my Calgary stint is over.

They work just fine. In fact, they are a bit higher rated than the original adapters.

I ended up buying an adapter from MCE since that is what was in-stock and the exchange rate didn't bite me as much. Hope it works tonight!
