Well i've played with Panther for a few hours at the apple store and to me, I don't like it taht much.

I like that the color labels are back and when I restarted the computers it seemed to restart faster, but I couldn't find much else to get excited about.

Expose I that was cool for about five minutes, than relased it's not that big of a deal. I don't think that will help me tremendously.

When I switched programs I could always just click on the dock.

And the system preferences just felt like it was off and I don't like how they put line into some of the choices under the apple menu.

It just feels like 10.03.... doesnt' feel there yet. I think i'll wait a bit till they get it right, but I'm fine to stick with 10.2.8 as it works very well.

Well... I was thinking kind of similarly about it after I installed, especially seeing as there were a few annoying bugs there as well. But my conclusion is now 'you don't know what you've got till it's gone!'

I have downgraded to 10.2.8 for the moment so that I can still print on the lp queue at uni, and since then have found that 10.2 isn't as good as I remember it. Especially with things like working with PDFs. Resizing, copying, whatever... it's all so much slower than in 10.3, but you don't know it until you see better, and then you forget how it was.

Also, trying to connect to an FTP server in 10.2 locks up the whole computer reasonably readily - much more reliable in Panther!

And I even miss it telling me (verbally) what the time is . Exposé and the new app-switcher box, I can see how we have done without, but things like these I have said, and like the new save dialogs, will have me looking forward to going 'back to the future' in a few weeks!

I think Expose is the "best" feature of Panther. I find it invaluable as I have many windows open at a time.

I think your problem was that you were using 10.03 and not 10.3.

Try the new one next time, although I'm kind of perplexed that expose was on 10.03.
peace,
