Well, I just called Apple about white spots on my grilfriend's 15 AL Powerbook. They only offered to repair the LCD and not replace it. They said that they found a fix for it. They said that it was the way the LCD was put together. Pressure Points was the problem he said. Now I wonder why everyone else is getting new screens while my girlfriend is just getting hers adjusted. Anyone else getting this option of just adjusting their screen. Oh yeah the TECH Specialist said that this was not a major problem because compared to how many was sold and how many had problems, he sugguest it was minimal.

So many people whinned about the problem that they just don't care anymore.

I heard if you toss your powerbook out the window and break it they will replace your screen.

Give it a shot
Hmmmm..... maybe not!

You are just a loser, and the Apple Tech your were talking to could sense it so he decided to push you aside and deal with a real customers problem.

Don't get angry with me because your girlfriend got ripped off.

I've had my powerbook for a month - so far no white spots. macfixit posted a screen pattern that you can set as your desktop to see if you have the spots.

Thanks for the notice. I'm glad to hear Apple has a permanent fix. I'm going to call them shortly to have mine replaced as well.

I called the Belgian Apple Store this morning (which happened to be the French one by the way) and the lady on the phone told me "of course the screen problem has been fixed, we handled the problem very seriously".

So everything seems to be ok now ?

Who knows Skypat... Only time will tell if these books have good screens. So its time to intertwine my fingers, sit back in my chair, and wait for the results to flow in before I buy one . I constantly find myself thinking about the 17PB reb b. However its just too damn big! I am a student and need something thats easy to cary with me!
